Stops it watching

  1. Viewing data / content recognition

    The setting that lets the TV see what you watch.

    Go to Settings › Privacy (or Support › Terms & Privacy)

    Turn OFF anything named Viewing Information, Viewing Data, Smart TV Experience, LivePlus, or ACR Recognition stops. Apps keep working on most sets.

Stops it listening

  1. Voice recognition

    Sends what the remote hears to the maker.

    Go to Settings › Privacy (or General › Voice)

    Turn OFF voice recognition services The remote's mic button stops working.
